Good-bye August! Hellooooo September!
August was a very rough month for Jeff and I. We had big plans. Painting, installing flooring (ourselves) and getting our house in tip-top shape for the babies.
Well, then poor Jeff suffered a horrible bout with nose bleeds which ended in resulting to several trips to the ER, nose packing (lovely!) and eventually some surgery. But, Jeff and his nose are both troopers and he is breathing easy (although he has a cold right now) and those pesky nose issues are a thing of the past. (we hope...but signs are looking good!). I have to tell you this story - there is this guy in our condo complex. I believe he just moved in recently since I have not noticed him for very long. Well, he likes to take walks around the condo complex and likes to stare at people. So, after some serious coercing I convinced Jeff to leave the house with nose packing intact. He was not a fan of the whole situation - but he needed some sun and fresh air. Well, Senor Starer has to be walking by the same time we get in the car. He gave Jeff a mighty stare. I noticed the act and in my best long island dialect said, "Hey, What are you Looking at?" Poor Jeff and down with the Ledgebrook starer!!!!
Then, what I thought was indigestion or heartburn and lasted a delightful 5 hours ended me up in the emergency room. After numerous tests- it seems to have gotten gallstones. Once only contracted by senior citizens (well, not exactly) - pregnant women too also can get gallstones from all the extra estrogen in their bodies (yeahhh for estrogen!). So, now I need to eat low-fat and NO BUTTER! No ice cream, no cheese, no fatty meats. Although, I really have never been a big fan of the "fatty meat". But, the ice cream...come on...I am friggin 7 months pregnant. Low-fat? Groan. I have to have my gallbladder taken out after the babies are born (they do not do a 2 for 1 special - I asked)...so I am looking forward to labor, delivery and gallbladder removal. Just, really wanted to earn that short-term disability. :).

I'm glad to hear you both are feeling better. I wish you great luck and courage as you continue through your pregnancy without ice cream. I feel your pain.
